Iya Kanko Ryokan is just a few minutes walk to the famed Kazurabashi Vine Bridge,
allowing you to easily enjoy the bridge and its riverside setting any time of day,
as well as when it is lit up with special lights in the evening.
And with our central valley location, our inn is also convenient for accessing other Iya Valley sights and activities including Ochiai Village,
rafting in Oboke Gorge, and climbing Mt. Tsurugi.
Traditional cuisine using locally sourced ingredients
Our home-made meals use a wide variety of local ingredients that can only be found in the Iya area, including river fish, wild mountain plants, and fresh seasonal vegetables.

All of our rooms are furnished in a traditional style, making you feel connected to the surrounding environment of chirping birds, starry skies, and seasonal beauty.
Enjoy a soothing hot bath using mountain spring water
The heated water used for our bath is sourced from a pure natural spring located on the mountain above the inn, providing a soft, warm comfort unlike regular tap water.

Even though we have a bath at our inn, we also offer discount tickets for day-use at a large hot spring spa that is located about a 5 minute drive away at Hotel Hikyo-no-Yu. These tickets are for our overnight guests only.
Bento for hiking,
and sake for the night
For guests staying the night before,
we can prepare bento lunch boxes which you can take on the trail if hiking up mountains like Mt Tsurugi or Mt Miune.
And when you return in the evening, we also have available a range of locally produced sake and other drinks so you can relax and enjoy.
Easy access to
nearby activities
With our central valley location, it is only a 5 to 20 minute drive to reach local activities like white-water rafting, forest rope courses, and other outdoor sights, making our inn a great base for exploring the Iya Valley and Oboke area.
JR Oboke Station is located about a
20 minute drive from our inn.

The first bus stop is called “Kazurabashi Yumebutai bus stop”.
It is located in the parking area for the Kazurabashi Vine Bridge,
and it is on the other side of the river from Iya Kanko Ryokan.
There are 7 buses per day going each way between this bus stop and Oboke Station.
It takes about 10 minutes to walk from Kazurabashi Yumebutai to the ryokan.
You will need to walk down a sloped road,
cross the river via a vehicle bridge that is close to the Kazurabashi Vine Bridge,
and then walk up a sloped road to reach the ryokan. Walking this route may be difficult with very large baggage.
The second bus stop is called “Kazurabashi bus stop” and this bus stop is located just next to Iya Kanko Ryokan only a few meters away.
There are 4 buses per day going between this bus stop and Oboke Station. When coming from Oboke Station,
the bus will first go to “Kazurabashi Yumebutai bus stop” (explained above) and then after it will continue onwards to “Kazurabashi bus stop”.
Do note that after leaving “Kazurabashi Yumebutai bus stop” the bus will first back-track on the same road for about 1 km before turning on a side road to then go to “Kazurabashi bus stop”.
But do note that not all buses continue from Kazurabashi Yumebutai bus stop to Kazurabashi Bus stop.
Is there parking available?
We have one free parking space for each room.
No reservation for parking is required.
What kind of meals are available?
We generally prepare traditional style meals using fresh local ingredients.
Each day we prepare a different set meal for all the guests.
The meals have a fixed menu, but can be made to handle specific food allergies and/or vegetarian if necessary with prior request.
(please see the further meal question below).
Room reservations can include both dinner and/or breakfast. Please be sure to choose whether you would like to include these meals when making your booking. It may not be possible to provide meals after check-in if you did not reserve meals before arriving (particularly dinner), so please reserve any meals before you come.
And please understand that there are not many restaurants serving dinner nearby, so we recommend including the meals with your room booking.
We also have drinks such as coffee and alcohol, as well as desserts available for separate purchase.
Can I smoke in the rooms?
All rooms and the dining lounge area are non-smoking.
We have an outdoor smoking area available.
Are there separate bathrooms and toilets?
All rooms use shared toilets and bath which you can use privately.
What amenities are provided?
We provide bath towels, small towels, tooth brushes, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. We also have bathrobes (yukata) available for use.
Is there free Wi-Fi available?
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the whole building including all guest rooms.
Can I store my luggage here?
We can store your baggage before check-in and after check-out only on the day of your stay.
We can not provide multi-day baggage storage.
Do you provide shuttle service to the train station?
We do not provide shuttle service.
Please use a taxi or public bus to access the inn from the train station.
Where is the closest train station?
The closest train station is Oboke Station on the JR Dosan Line.
It is about a 20 minute drive or bus ride between the station and the inn.
Where is the nearest bus stop?
Kazurabashi bus stop is less than a 1 minute away.
Kazurabashi Yumebutai bus stop is about a 10 minute walk away.
*if you have large baggage, we recommend trying to use Kazurabashi bus stop.
What time is check-in and check out?
Check-in starts from 3:00pm (15:00).
Check-out is before 10:00am.
Do you provide lunch?
We can prepare a bento lunch box that you can take with you for when you are touring the Iya Valley area (such as when mountain hiking).
Please ask when you check-in to request a bento lunch box for the next day.
There will be an additional fee for providing this.
Are vegetarian, vegan or other special meals available?
Vegetarian or vegan meals can be prepared only with an advanced request.
Specific food allergies can also be accommodated with prior request.
Please contact us before coming if you have a special meal requirement.
We usually can not handle special requests for meals after you check-in.
Is there a shared guest space?
After meals are finished, our dining room becomes a shared space for all the guests.
We have board games, playing cards, and classic records available, and we also offer drink service and desserts which can be individually ordered with an extra charge.
